THE story behind

Our olive groves with unique characteristics and an old story back many years ...

Centennial olive trees

Our olive trees stand proudly on Ionian island of Kefalonia soil and are centuries old. Here in Paliki is  where our family-owned olive trees cover the carefully cultivated farmland and where we harvest our olives for producing our highest quality cold pressed extra virgin olive oil.
Arelia cultivates olive groves with varieties such as Koroneiki, Thiaki as well as the special variety: local Kefalonia which has Venetian origins. The special soil characteristics, as well as the microclimate that exists in them, gives Arelia oil its unique bouquet of aromas and its rich taste.

Ideal conditions for oil

Olive oil is one of Greece’s most historically and culturally significant exports. Throughout the seasons, olive trees change as the fruit ripens. Paliki estate in Kefalonia is in the ideal location, due to climatic weather conditions, consisting of almost 9 months of summer with intense sunshine, drought and the cool Ionian breeze.
This land of unique beauty filled with history, myth and outstanding natural landscapes has cultivated the olive as its primary produce for hundreds of years. We have the same respect and love as our ancestors caring for our centuries old, olive groves.

Love and care for quality

Our varietal olive trees, with its high fruit bearing properties are being recognized internationally in having some of the highest polyphenol (antioxidant) bearing properties amongst other olive varieties and with our ideal harvesting methods and weather conditions, ensure that our olive oil is yearly of the highest quality. Our olive grove has developed over the years always with the utmost protection of the environment.
